I'm Sumayya Kanwal, a chemist and graphic designer based in Islamabad, Pakistan, with a strong academic and research background in organic chemistry. I completed my MS in Organic Chemistry (2024–2026) at the University of Wah, Wah Cantt, with a CGPA of 3.7/4, following my BS (Hons) in Chemistry (2020–2024) from the same university, where I achieved a CGPA of 3.71/4 (92.16%). My research expertise spans nanoparticle synthesis, water quality analysis, and analytical techniques including UV-Vis, XRD, FTIR, titration, and thin layer chromatography. I have authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in journals such as BioNanoScience, Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, and ChemistrySelect, covering topics like PEG-coated CuO/Graphene Oxide nanocomposites, chitosan nanoparticles for biomedical applications, and groundwater remediation. Professionally, I interned as a Chemist at Pakistan Ordinance Factory, Sanjwal Cantt, where I gained hands-on experience in sample preparation, spectral interpretation, qualitative metal ion analysis, and GMP/GLP-compliant documentation. I have also worked as a teacher at Quaid Model Public School, Hummak, handling classroom management, exam paper preparation, and practical experiment demonstrations. In addition to my scientific work, I'm proficient in graphic design tools including Adobe Illustrator, Canva Pro, and IbisPaintX, and I've created numerous scientific illustrations, pamphlets, and graphical abstracts. I'm also skilled in Microsoft Office, ChemDraw, scientific writing, and inventory management. I've attended several national and international conferences and workshops, and I presented a poster at the 10th Multidisciplinary Research International Conference (MRIC) 2025.
I've been serving as a teacher at Quaid Model Public School, Hummak, since August 2022. In this role, I've been responsible for classroom management, coordination of academic activities, and preparation of examination papers for chemistry and general science subjects. I've effectively demonstrated practical experiments to my students, helping them connect theoretical concepts with hands-on laboratory work. My teaching approach emphasizes clarity, student engagement, and the development of scientific reasoning. I've also mentored students in preparing for science exhibitions and practical assessments, and I've received positive feedback for my ability to simplify complex chemical concepts for secondary-level learners. My dual background as a research chemist and educator allows me to bring real-world scientific examples into the classroom, enriching the learning experience.
